PRIVACY POLICY
The Female Quotient, LLC and its subsidiaries and affiliates (collectively referred to as “us” “our”, or “we”), respect and are committed to protecting user privacy. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) applies to any user of the Speaker Equity Assessor™ and explains how and when we may collect, use, share or store data with personal information. Any user that does not agree to the terms of this Policy, is not permitted to access, use or interact with the Speaker Equity Assessor™ .
By using our Speaker Equity Assessor,™ users expressly consent to all our practices regarding collection, use, disclosure, and retention of personal information as described in this Policy. In other words, users are expressly instructed not to use the Speaker Equity Assessor™ if they do not agree with our Policy.
As our practices evolve, we may update this Policy and indicate the date it was last updated at the bottom of the Policy. We encourage users to periodically review this Policy. By continuing to use the Speaker Equity Assessor™ after any changes to our Policy are made, users are consenting to these changes. This Policy does not govern user’s offline activities. Also, please keep in mind that this Policy only applies to the Speaker Equity Assessor™ and not any third-party websites whose links we might include in the Speaker Equity Assessor™. Please check those third party sites for information on their privacy practices.
Types of Data We Collect
We try to limit the data we collect and, when possible, delete or anonymize it. Typically, data containing any personally identifiable information comes directly and voluntarily from the user. Data that contains “personal information” refers to information that directly identifies someone or information that can be used to personally identify someone. We also collect information from users automatically when they access the Speaker Equity Assessor™, also referred to as “passive data collection.” Finally, we may receive information from other sources, such as third party market research partners. These data collection practices are described more fully below:
Information and Content Provided Directly and Voluntarily by the User: We collect personal information the user directly and voluntarily provides and inputs, at their sole discretion, when they choose to access or use the Speaker Equity Assessor™. For instance, a user may choose to provide a personally identifiable name, contact information (e.g., first name, surname, physical address, email address, phone number, employer, title, industry, company name, interests, gender, messages, and financial information, where applicable).
If a user of the the Speaker Equity Assessor™ chooses to share or input personal information about itself or others, that information is no longer in our control. Any user of the Speaker Equity Assessor™ expressly agrees to defend, indemnify and hold us harmless from and against any and all claims, damages, costs and expenses, including attorneys’ fees, arising from a user choosing to input personal information about itself or others when using the Speaker Equity Assessor™.
Passive Data: We automatically collect information when users are visiting or interacting with the Speaker Equity Assessor™. This passive data collection practice does not include collection of information identifying anyone personally. Rather, it collects and aggregates data on user and visitor activity (“Aggregated Information”), for instance, information about the computer or mobile device used to access our Speaker Equity Assessor™, including operating system, hardware model, browser type, IP address, URLs of referring/exit pages, device identifiers, mobile network information, and crash data. How much of this information we collect depends on the type and settings of the device used.
Technologies used like “Cookies” or “Web Beacons”:
We may use different technologies to collect Aggregated Information, including cookies, web beacons, software development kits (SDKs and similar technologies, where necessary, to provide functionality and recognize user preferences. A “cookie” is a small piece of data stored on the user’s device that remembers information about the user’s activity. Similarly, a “web beacon” is a small file stored online that monitors usage of the Speaker Equity Assessor™. SDK tools help the technology on the user’s existing device to access the Speaker Equity Assessor™. All of these technologies help us improve the user’s experience of and access to features of the Speaker Equity Assessor™.
It is the user’s sole responsibility to restrict the use of cookies or completely prevent them from being set on the device they are using. Most browsers provide for ways to control cookie behavior, such as the length of time they are stored. Check browser settings to determine if and where cookies are stored and whether and how they may be deleted. If a user does not accept cookies, they may not be able to use all features of the Speaker Equity Assessor™.
Data from Third-Party Sources: If a user accesses the Speaker Equity Assessor™ through a social media site or other site or service to share information with us, we may have access to certain information from that site or service, in accordance with the authorization procedures determined by such social media or site or service. We may also receive information about user activities from third-party advertising and market research partners, who provide us with information about our user’s interests and their engagement with the Speaker Equity Assessor™
How Data is Used: How we use the data we collect largely depends on how our users access and use the Speaker Equity Assessor™. We may use the data we collect to: Create an account for users on the Speaker Equity Assessor™; Provide the Speaker Equity Assessor service and information to users, as described on the Speaker Equity Assessor™; Carry out any other purpose described to users at the time the information was collected; Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities in connection with our Speaker Equity Assessor™; Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud or other illegal activities and protect; Personalize and improve the Speaker Equity Assessor™; Communicate with our users, including responding to messages and providing customer service; Respond to a request for information, if we believe disclosure is in accordance with, or required by, any applicable law or legal process, including lawful requests by public authorities to meet national security or law enforcement requirements; Aggregate user information for research and development of our services; Send notices, updates, newsletters or news regarding the Speaker Equity Assessor™ to users about products, services, offers, and events and provide news and information we think will be of interest to our users; and, Provide such data in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business by another company.
How Data is Shared:
To be clear, we do not sell any of our data, especially data containing personal information, to anyone. Sometimes we need to rely on third-party partners and vendors to help us operate and improve the Speaker Equity Assessor™. Data may be shared with analytics vendors. We may need to provide information to vendors and service providers who support our business and the functionality of the Speaker Equity Assessor™, such as by providing technical infrastructure services. We might be forced to share data with law enforcement in response to legal requests.
We expressly reserve the right to transfer any data to a successor in interest that acquires rights to that information because of an investment, merger or sale.
If users choose to share information publicly (whether on purpose or inadvertently), it is no longer in our control and those users expressly agree to defend, indemnify and hold us harmless from and against any and all claims, damages, costs and expenses, including attorneys’ fees, arising from a user choosing to share personal information arising from their use of the Speaker Equity Assessor™.
How Data is Protected:
Our data is stored on a secure server and not publicly accessible. Additionally, all data transmitted to and from the Speaker Equity Assessor™, when and where applicable, is encrypted using industry standard security measures. Access to the Speaker Equity Assessor™ is secured over a HTTPS protocol with a strong SSL Certificate. All connections and transferred data is encrypted. We have a strong password policy for accessing a Speaker Equity Assessor™ account, and users’ passwords are stored in a hashed format using algorithms and iterations to ensure maximum security. We also have Two Step Authentication to maximize security. Although no system can guarantee the complete security of date, we take all commercially reasonable steps to ensure user information is protected in alignment with all applicable laws and regulations.
How Data is Stored and Deleted: We store data for as long as necessary in accordance with the purpose for which it was collected, our business needs, and our legal and regulatory obligations. We may retain certain information for legitimate business purposes or as required by law. If we dispose of user information, we will do so in a way that is secure and appropriate.
The Speaker Equity Assessor™ is based in the United States and we process and store information in the United States. Therefore, we and our service providers may transfer information to, or store or access it in jurisdictions that may not provide equivalent levels of data protection as a user’s home jurisdiction. We will take steps to ensure our data receives an adequate level of protection in the jurisdictions in which we process it. We will retain certain data as required by law or for legitimate business purposes, including cached or archived data. If our Speaker Equity Assessor™ is accessed by a user from another country, that user hereby expressly consents to any transfer and use of information in accordance with this Policy. Any persons accessing our Speaker Equity Assessor™ from any jurisdiction with laws or regulations that would make such access unlawful in their jurisdiction, they may not use the Speaker Equity Assessor™.
If a user is a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), that user may have certain rights and protections regarding our processing of data containing personal information. By using the Speaker Equity Assessor™, users consent to the data collection practices described in this Policy. But as a resident of the EEA, users may have the right to request access to data we have collected containing personal information and, if applicable, ask that it be corrected, erased, or transferred. Refer to the “Contact Us” section below for information on where to submit requests of this nature.
Notice to California Residents of California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA): This California Privacy Notice is for California residents and supplements this Policy. Under the CCPA, California domiciled users have the following rights:
- Right to Know: This is the right to request disclosure of any personal information we may have collected;
- Right to Request Deletion: This is the right to request deletion of any personal information we may have collected;
- Right to Non-Discrimination: This means that we are prohibited from discriminated against users for exercising any of these rights.
- Contact Us: To exercise any of these rights, contact us in writing at the email shown below in the “Contact Us” section. Verification of a user’s identity is required before processing any request, which my require several steps.
Children: Our Speaker Equity Assessor™ is not intended for children under the age of 18. This includes any links to other websites that we provide for our convenience. We don’t knowingly collect the information of children for any reason.
Governing Law: Any dispute relating to this Policy will be governed in all respects under the laws of the State of California venued in the federal or state courts of Ventura County, California. Disagreement on the choice of law, venue and jurisdiction stated herein is expressly waived.
