Why do women only account for 19% of Wikipedia entries? Why does AI portray Advertising’s Most Influential Person of the Year as a white man? Across industries, women are the driving force behind groundbreaking medical discoveries, transformative contributions to film and music, and thriving businesses. How can we ensure women are as discoverable by AI as men? Join us in the #EqualityLounge @ #AWNewYork23 as we discuss specific strategies to elevate women’s visibility in all industries, allowing them to shine, own their achievements, and gain global recognition. I think it may be because most of the high ranking executives are indeed white men. Hence AI created this image. It’s not discrimination, it’s just reality. I did a brief stint in marketing, and I will say that the lifestyle, especially at the senior levels, such as creative director, etc. is not exactly conducive to family life. It’s a busy role requiring many late nights, and since many women value time spent with their families, the higher roles in marketing/advertising don’t appeal to them. The other part of this is that women entered the workforce in full force after WWII. While some women reached the top of industries since then, including advertising, women are still playing catch up to men who got a head start. So, it makes sense that the composite image of a marketing executive is still a white male. In 2-3 decades, that may very well change, and it should, IF women are equally attracted to such roles. Respectfully, I think women should be asking a different question. Instead of “Why are white men the face of X industry?” We should ask: “What are the barriers in the way of women who wish to reach the highest levels in their field ?” I would argue its not as simple as discrimination.

Most of the marketing and advertising departments I've collaborated with are at least 90% women-powered. That said, there seems to be a difference in the degree of assertiveness and confidence when it comes to seeking and claiming recognition for accomplishments and status. Women might be the backbone of many companies within the industry, but in order to be "the face", they need to up their visibility: Be prepared to shout their knowledge & expertise from the rooftops!

woman was rapes and murdered in Israrl, babies burned alive Infront of their mothers. not a word from you? why????
