The Female Quotient to Bring its FQ Lounge, Home of Equality, to Shoptalk for Second Year
NEW YORK –February 25, 2019 – The Female Quotient, a company and community dedicated to achieving workplace equality, today announced its pop-up activation, The FQ Lounge, Home of Equality, will return to Shoptalk for the second year in a row, in partnership with Women in Retail Leadership Circle, Style.Me, Braze, Headliner Labs, Ebay, Narvar, Honey, Acxiom, First Data, BounceX, and AfterPay.
As a result of last year’s lounge being wildly successful, The FQ Lounge will now be featured on the Shoptalk main floor in The Venetian’s Exhibit Hall in Las Vegas, Nev. on March 4 and 5. The Lounge will serve as the Home of Equality at Shoptalk, where attendees can come together to create actionable solutions to advance diversity and inclusion, and get more women in the leadership pipeline.
Programming will include a variety of panel discussions about gender equality, with an emphasis on how women can rise up in the retail industry, the ways women are disrupting retail, and why men and women must work together to create real change. This year’s lounge will host leaders in the retail space, such as Cathey Curtis, Vice President of Global Marketing at Billabong Women’s; Jennifer Goldfarb, CEO and Chairwoman of ipsy; and Nicole Mason, who heads marketing strategy at Macy’s, among others.
“Women influence more than 85% of the purchasing decisions, yet the leaders in retail are still predominantly male,” said Shelley Zalis, CEO of The Female Quotient. “We’re raising the visibility of women who are changing the game, using the power of collaboration, and creating next-step solutions for change. Last year’s lounge shone a spotlight on retail leaders dedicated to making a difference in their industry, and this year we’re focused on creating even more action steps to change the equation.”
Topics of discussion at The FQ Lounge @ Shoptalk include: “Women Marketers and Women Shoppers in the Era of Mobile Commerce,” “Building a Talent Pipeline for Women in Retail,” and “Collaboration is Key: Engaging Men to Advance Women in the Workplace,” to name a few.
“We are thrilled to be partnering again with The Female Quotient for The FQ Lounge, Home of Equality at Shoptalk this year,” said Melissa Campanelli, co-founder of the Women in Retail Leadership Circle. “The creates a safe space for women to meet, share and learn from each other. Ultimately, the goal is to increase the number of executive level women in retail by helping them build a network.”
The FQ Lounge is a community of more than 17,000  women and men in business who are transforming workplace culture. In partnership with some of the world’s leading brands, Shelley Zalis and her team at The Female Quotient create memorable and impactful experiences to advance gender equality at the World Economic Forum, SXSW, Cannes Lions, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), and other prestigious events all over the world.
