CEO Spotlight: Cristiana Falcone

Meet Cristiana Falcone, this week’s FQ Global Pack Spotlight and global leader in media, business, and social development. Since 2006, Cristiana has been CEO and trustee of the JMCMRJ Sorrell Foundation, leading transformative initiatives in health, education, and poverty alleviation worldwide. She recently joined us alongside a transformative group of women leaders from Italy to talk about the value of “empathy.” Scroll down for more from Cristiana!

Describe yourself in 3 words.

A loyal friend, partner, and advisor.

What do you wish more people knew about life in Italy?

I wish more people understood the counterintuitive idea that, in a traditional and patriarchal Catholic country, the Chief Mother Officer has real power to get things done against all odds.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

Instead of striving to ‘do it all’ perfectly every single day, try to set aspirational goals, even moonshots, and measure the average score within a predetermined timeline. One day, you’re the best mom. The next day, you’re the best boss. Another day, you’re the best spouse (and so on and so forth). You’ll see how, in about a month, one becomes fairly good at everything.

What headline would you want to read about women in your country?

I’d like to see a woman appointed as CEO of one of the companies controlled by the government. As it currently stands, there are none and the tenures are all up for renewal around May.

What book/podcast/tv show would you recommend?

Murakami books are my favorite. I do not listen to a lot of podcasts. And, I like shows such as Suburra, Money Heist, and Call My Agent. When I’m with my daughter, you will catch me watching Chip and Potatoes, Frozen, and the Jurassic Park series… we are currently going through a ‘dinosaur and new breed of Disney princess’ phase.
